We don't bother washing the cars during baseball season. Driving down a long dirt road for games leaves our cars pretty dirty. Maybe one day they will be able to pave the road.
I pulled the slide out for Grayson and he loved it! He could go up and down forever.
Dave's brother Nate is getting married in August. We weren't really hearing anything about wedding plans and such so Dave called Nate to see how it was going. Turns out everything was figured out except the invitations, they were having trouble with those. Dave offered my services and just like that I got to do them. It was different since I had never even had a conversation with Aubrey. But I made some samples and when we saw them on the 4th we figured out what they wanted.
Maddie takes her Beanie Boos birthdays serious. Oliver was her very first Beanie Boo and he had a July birthday. She expected a party for Oliver with presents and all. She went to the store and spent her money on a gift for Oliver. Landon was nice enough to decorate.
Since the boys team took first in the city competition they got to go to the State Tournament. We had two games scheduled the first day. We all got down there to find out our first game was cancelled. We then had hours until the next game. We drove around Salem a bit and then met up with the rest of the team for a potluck at a park. That was a lot fun until the boys got a little too competitive messing around and the first base man started beating on the catcher. It ruined the team feeling a bit. Not the best way to go into a game. We ended up losing our game that night. Grandma and Grandpa Knadler came down to see it.
The next day we had just one game. Just before the game the weather turned. It got really windy and sand was just flying in our faces. It was pretty miserable. We got slaughtered in this game. Coach had asked me to get pics of all the players before the game but with the weather and how the game was going it was too difficult. I was proud of Landon though. He stayed in the game even when the players on his team had given up. Landon was playing second and fielded a ball and then threw it to the first baseman. Well the kid on first missed it and well fell down and wouldn't get up. That's right the game is still going and he's just laying there! Landon then ran over and grabbed the ball so we could end the play. Landon was also one of the very few on his team to get on base. Poor Jared and Jordyn came down to witness this horrible game. Besides being covered in sand we also had to drive through a road that had flooded. It was a crappy day, Dave wasn't too disappointed he missed it for work. After the game we did go to Cracker Barrel for dinner.
Landon does love to cook! One night he wanted to make dessert for everyone. He's original and creative! Another day he wanted to make bread. He'd never made it before but he worked hard and did a great job. Then another day he made mug cakes for everyone. The kids enjoy his cooking!
Landon also likes to take pictures. He captured this one of G.
Landon really wanted a hamster. One day I saw this one for free on facebook. Someone tried to butt in on us getting it and the owner actually said whoever got to her house first. Well we won! Landon named it Kitty.
August was going to be busy and go fast with school starting so early in the month. So we headed out back to school clothes shopping in July. Hannah managed to keep herself entertained.
All tucked in with Mickey and Rhino. Grayson is the sweetest!
