We Survived Disneyland

This past week we headed down to Disneyland for our fourth time. This trip was probably my favorite. Maybe because the kids were a little older or because we went with some pretty cool people or maybe because it was just the perfect time to go. The weather was great, the lines were real short if anything and as an added bonus it was Halloween time at the park. So we ignored the fact that we had some small children and hit the park from opening to closing. We stayed around past closing everyday and even missed the tram two of the days and got to walk to the parking garage. We walked soooo much that by the time it was time to come home I could barely walk. But despite how tired we all were it was totally worth it.

So now the hard part; we took 492 pictures. That doesn't even include the ones the Lindsays took. So here are a few :)
We started at Dumbo.

Here's our standard family pic at the Buzz ride, yep we have one from every trip.

I was lucky enough to ride with Landon. Dave wasn't so fortunate. The whole ride Landon was commenting on how awesome of a driver he is and how bad Tanner was. The kid was telling the truth...Tanner is crazy behind the wheel.

We were so happy we ran into Minnie, and how lucky that Maddie was even wearing her Minnie shirt.

In order to have good seats for the parade you gotta wait. The kids didn't seem to mind. Tanner and Eliza pretty much 'attacked' each other the whole time. They wouldn't even stop for the group pic.

The whole group with Mickey. This is the 1st time we went through his house to see him. Maddie insisted on a second trip two days later. She just loves that guy.
So we stayed until the park was closing the first day and then headed to downtown disney for dinner. Poor Maddie was tired(she didn't get her normal 3-4hr nap) and fell asleep at the restaurant. She was out for the night. She didn't notice us moving her around or putting pjs on her at the hotel.

Maddie saw this picture and reminded me that she did not like this ride. I didn't remember the ladybug ride being so crazy.

If you ever see these guys RUN the other way. They are the chattiest of characters, but really you're just army men.

Tanner didn't want to go on this one but Eliza went and loved it. We tried bribing him with treats but it wasn't until Angela offered to buy him the shirt he had been checking out that he rode it. Turns out he loved it and it became his favorite ride.

While everyone but Landon, Maddie, Vince and I rode California Screamin' we rode this carousel. I rode it A LOT. At least it was an easy way to contain and entertain the kiddos.

The World of Color show is a must see! Loved it! We opted to sit in the wet zone so we were right there, no one in front of us. We got lucky and the wind wasn't bad so we just got misted (I guess some nights people get soaked). However the fire was a welcome addition since I was still a little cold from the mist. Anyway pictures can not give the show justice you just gotta see it in person.

We found out that the age of accountability is 7 at Disneyland. In other words once you are 7 you no longer need to sit with Mom and Dad. Tanner thought it was cool he could ride alone and enjoyed doing it. This worked out well since we have an odd number of kids.

Poor Landon is like him Mommy and doesn't love roller coasters and such. We made him ride lots of rides he didn't love. This is after Thunder Mountain. The worst reaction was after the Matterhorn, there were tears and cries for Mommy. Vince however loved it.

Lucky Maddie got to meet three princesses including her favorite Cinderella.

Someone has to hold the camera.

Our last day at the park was the first official day of Halloween Time at Disneyland. The kids loved seeing all the Halloween decor around the park.

Monsters Inc. was one of Maddie's favorite rides though the ferris wheel was her very favorite. I just don't have any pics of that since I chose not to ride it.

Our last parade/show was Fantasmic. It was cool, no world of color but still good. We tried so hard to keep Maddie up for the show but she was way too exhausted. The boys are wearing their souvenirs. Tanner finally has a real Indiana Jones hat. Oh and he got to ride that ride for the first time. It scared him a bit the first time, I guess his heart was racing by the end. But he was brave and rode it a couple more times.

So this pic was taken after 11pm local time. Maddie, Eliza and Vince are all out. Tanner and Landon wish they were. Angela and I had a little last minute shopping to do. Needless to say we didn't leave so early the next day.

Maddie discovered and fell in love with Palm trees there. So I had to snap a pic before heading back to Utah. We didn't make it home until almost 11 that night yet we still made it to Church in the morning.
