Yesterday I took Madelyn to the Dr to recheck her finger and they said she definitely had a mallet and needed surgery. So we scheduled it for this morning. Madelyn and I had to be at the hospital at 7am...an early morning for both of us. She was so good and patient for the hour before the surgery. We had to hang out in a little room while lots of people came in and asked lots of questions to fill out a lot of paperwork. Finally at 8am the
Physicians Assistant we had been seeing at the Dr's office came in and said that Dr. Sanderson was there and ready. So
Britton, Maddie's nurse, took her from me and they headed off. Just less than an hour later they brought back my little cutie. The PA gave me the post-surgery x-rays and showed me where her finger was fractured and how it can straighten out now.
Maddie ready for her surgery in her cute little gown .
Downing her milk after the surgery. She was so cute. She didn't like having all the things attached to her. She tried to get the Dr to take the IV out and when he wouldn't she tried to chew it off.
So now we just have to try and keep the bandaging on her finger. In an ideal world they would like it to stay on for two weeks but they are realistic and our hoping for at least four days to give the hole in her finger a little time to heal. Maddie already tried to eat it off this afternoon so she is now sporting a pink mitten on that hand.

Poor little Maddie. She does look adorable in her little gown. She's a tough little thing. I'm glad you guys made it through it okay.
