The Fourth

We headed up to Henefer on Saturday for a little celebrating. Henefer does it's little city celebration every year on the fourth so it's a good place to go.

The park had tons of things going on. The kids were excited for the inflatables. Tanner found a girlfriend while playing. He actually couldn't lose the poor girl. She kept jumping him.

Dave found himself in a frozen t-shirt contest. He lost, but the guy who won totally cheated.

The kids and I didn't really see Dave too much while we were at the park. It seems that there is an unwritten rule that everyone comes back to town for this little shindig. So in other words he had plenty of people to chat with. Me on the other hand had one person say hi. A Heneferite works at the pharmacy here in town and well has gotten to know me thanks to my kids and their random prescriptions.

Maddie had fun with her cousin Emmy
After the famous 10 cent ice cream homes we walked back to Dave's parents house for a little BBQ. We then went to the kids favorite part of the day...the parade. Before meeting Dave I hadn't been to one of these small town parade things. I did not know that people would throw candy and otter pops at you. In years past they would even soak you with the fire hose. Luckily they dropped that tradition this year. Once Maddie figured out it was okay to run in the road to grab treats she went crazy. I think she consumed the most during the parade.

We came home after the parade to watch the fireworks here. Maddie and I stayed home and the boys headed to Thanksgiving Point. In interest of a quick exit Dave just parked on the road in front and set up blankets and pillows on top of our van. The boys had a lot of fun and made it home before 11.

It looks like the kids had a blast in Henefer. You make me laugh, Stacy.
