So we had so much fun at Disneyland last year we made it a goal to get there again soon. I made this little five month calendar and then we put everything we had going on on it. We were left with just a few options of when we could go. We decided to go at the end of February. The only thing we would miss was Landon's field trip. We left early Sunday though not as early as we hoped. It was a pretty uneventful drive. It took us pretty much exactly ten hours. We took it easy that night and just went to dinner at Red Robin then headed back to the hotel to watch a little tv and then go to bed.
Okay we were up super early the next day. We got to Disneyland well before it opened. Security takes longer now so that was good. So we did something we have never done before...we all wore Mickey and Minnie shirts. I don't usually like cheesy but hey it's Disneyland.
We started the day in Disneyland. Our first ride was Peter Pan because for some crazy reason the ride always has a 45 minutes wait and we didn't want to wait that long for it.

Hannah was tall enough to go on all kinds of rides this time. She surprisingly was willing to give them at least one try. Turns out Tower of Terror is NOT her favorite. Not the best pic but she is totally crying. Dad got her a lollipop to make it all better!
Last year Maddie wanted to go on California Screamin' so bad but she was a half inch to short. She was super excited to go on it this year and it didn't disappoint. She rode on it a few times in a row!
We happened upon the Pixar Play Parade and were able to grab a good seat. Grayson was in heaven. He just sat mesmerized the whole time.
We pretty much just go go go all day without breaks but we do stop for dinner. We tried a different place, Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta, and it was pretty good.
DAY 2:
Today's main goal was do everything Star Wars! Dad and the kids minus Grayson hurried to ride Hyperspace Mountain first thing while Mom and Grayson rode Buzz Lightyear a few times. We then all went to the Star Wars Museum area Launch Bay and met a few characters. Hannah was seriously scared of Kylo Ren but Grayson thought he was funny.

We got to meet a lot of other favorite characters. Grayson and Hannah were excited to meet Woody! Pooh Bear and friends were a hit. We were the last family through before a little break for them so it seemed like we got a little extra time with them.
Family selfie! Thanks for smiling boys.
Hannah gave Splash Mountain a try and well she didn't like it. Maybe next time..
Tonight we wanted to hit the special 60th Anniversary Paint the Night Parade. This has got to be my favorite parade yet! We all loved it. Sadly though it was supposedly too windy and they didn't do the fireworks.
Day 3:
Today's main goal was Radiator Springs Racers and World of Color. We got there early and hurried to Cars Land as they opened the park while Dave got fast passes. Hannah got to ride for her first time and she actually liked this one. Dave rode with her again right after and then she went a third time with me again. Well turns out two in a row is her limit.

We HAD to get a picture with Buzz Lightyear!
It was pretty hot there for us since it was winter back in Utah. We all got ice cream treats to help cool off. Poor G missed out since he fell asleep.
Souvenir time! The girls decided on Build a Bears and the big boys on custom r/c cars. This was Hannah's first build a bear ever!
After we got the souvenirs all squared away we headed back to California Adventure. I got talked on to Tower of Terror for the first and last time. Not a fan! The boys rode it again right away while the rest of us went to Flo's for dinner. Dinner was pretty good there. The boys came when they were done and Tanner showed us his arm where someone had dug their nails in. At first I was worried I had done it because I really didn't like the ride but he said it was some random lady the second time they rode it. Crazy!
After dinner we got in line for World of Color. Awesome show as always. We ended up being surprised by the fact we were sitting by a spot that blows air during Let it Go. It was pretty funny the first time it blew and Tanner jumped.
Day 4:
So we finally rode Matterhorn. The last time we went on this ride was in 2010. Landon cried that time but this time it was his favorite ride. He rode it over and over going through the single rider line.
We had to see some princesses! I wasn't planning on Grayson being in the pictures but the cutie marched on over and posed! Snow White thought he was hilarious!
So we've had rides stop for a second but never completely shut down. They turned the lights on and we had to walk out of the Buzz ride. Have to say some of the magic is lost when you see the ride in the light.
While trying to find the rest of our crew Hannah, Grayson and I happened upon the daily parade.
Hardly saw the boys all day so I made them stand there and let me take a picture so I had proof they were there :) Tanner did go meet Kylo Ren again by himself.
Love all the fun Mickey treats!
So we made a list before the last full day of everything we wanted to be sure to hit. I made the list on my phone and checked it off as we hit things
Day 5:
The last day is always sad! We did five day passes this time for two reasons. One they hardly cost any more than 4 day, like only 30 more total. And second Soarin' Over California wasn't open the rest of the week so in order to ride it we would have to go on that Friday. Dave loves that ride and had't gone on it since 2010 which also meant a few of the kids had never been on it. So we started the day at California Adventure. Dave and all the kids but Grayson headed straight to Soarin' while Grayson and I went on Mater and Ariel's rides. We then got in line for Midway Mania where the rest of the group caught up with us. After that we headed to Disneyland to finish up there.
Churros!
Attempted a family pic in front of the castle but apparently the sun was to bright for miss Maddie.
We all split up to get what we wanted to done. Mom and the littles played in Toontown, while Dad, Landon and Maddie did Splash Mountain and Tanner went in search of storm troopers. Poor kid had been trying all week to find the storm troopers and get a picture with them. Fortunately he was finally successful!
After that we headed to Downtown Disney for some lunch and then back to the hotel. We loaded up and hit the road. Grayson was worn out already and stayed asleep transferring from the stroller to the car seat. We had horrible traffic getting out of California there was an accident and it seriously took us hours to drive 60 miles. We left the hotel at 1:30pm local time. It took us 13.5 hours to get home!
Well when you get home at 4am all the kids end up sleeping in the car. I took that picture at 3am! We were rushing to get home because the boys had to leave at 8 to go to Scout Merit Badge PowWow that morning. In hindsight we wished we hadn't signed them up for that. It was HORRIBLE driving all night like that.
We had an awesome trip! Next time we want to go when we don't have to hurry back!
